Stanko is a technology licensing expert with decades of experience as both a software designer and as a technical leader at prominent IP licensing organizations.
Stanko is an electrical engineer by training, and his industry experience includes roles as a developer for Alcatel, Cisco, and telecom startups. After moving from industry to Chipworks, he pioneered new software reverse engineering methodologies and led analysis in support of high-stakes IP litigation and industry licensing negotiations. Following Chipworks, Stanko led patent assessment as Vice President of Technology Licensing at WiLan, where he managed WiLan's IP acquisition process and contributed to numerous IP licensing efforts.
Stanko is also the developer of Patentcut.com, a patent analytics platform designed to effectively facilitate the review of US issued patents.

Jeff is an IP litigator with extensive experience in high stakes litigation
both as trial counsel and as an in-house leader at prominent global corporations known for innovation.
Jeff's career includes over a decade litigating dozens of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret trials and appeals throughout the U.S. (including numerous matters before the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Federal Circuit) and in multiple international jurisdictions.
Additionally, Jeff spent more than a decade overseeing complex litigation and licensing matters at major global technology companies. Jeff served as Chief IP Counsel and as Chief Litigation Counsel at Tesla, as Director of Patent Litigation and Patent Strategy & Licensing at Apple, and worked as in-house Patent Litigation Counsel at Abbott Laboratories, where he was responsible for both device and therapeutics patent cases.
Jeff regularly advises clients on IP strategy, patent portfolio development, licensing, patent acquisitions, strategic relationships, technology transfers and joint development deals. He has personally negotiated and drafted in excess of 100 patent licenses, cross-licenses and patent purchase agreements between some of the most sophisticated technology companies in the world, and has been recognized by Intellectual Asset Management Magazine (IAM) as one of the “World’s Top IP Strategists.”

Boris is an electrical engineer and lawyer by training and has spent the bulk of his 10 year career working on high-stakes intellectual property and other commercial disputes.
In addition to providing traditional in-house counsel functions, Boris brings to Highlands substantial experience in IP valuation, buy-side due diligence, commercial damages assessments, and patent landscaping & analytics.
During his tenure at Navigant and Ankura Consulting, he directed teams involved in preparing dozens of expert witness reports in US & international litigation and arbitration; he also acted as the IP practice lead for patent analytics, contributing substantially to industry-leading efforts to use analytics to effectively evaluate Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) and to determine the appropriate royalty rates for SEP patent pools.
